Euro Winter Trip: Berlin, Germany
Januari 27, 201725th of December 2016,
We caught our flight to Berlin Tegel in the early morning. Thank God we could managed to arrive on time because the earliest metro was at 4.45 (Our flight was at 7.30). I was so excited because Berlin is definitely one of my bucket list. Flight was just 1 hour and half. Unfortunately, It was raining all day in Berlin :''( When we arrived, it was so cold and yes the mood was so gloomy (people also say that Berlin is so grey, by mean the mood). I didn't have any plan because I was basically so lazy to do research and I put my trust (a lot) to Faidil, because of course he already knows where should we go.
My trip in Berlin is the most interesting one tho. I did learn German during high school and i still know some German words. But I heard how Germans speak, I could not understand any single words HAHAHA. One time I went to buy water and the cashier asked me 'Allez?' LOL I was surprised and few seconds later I just remembered what it means so I answered 'Allez' and smile. (Allez means all, so basically she asked is that all). They apparently expect you speak German because most of international student there can speak German, so you have to tell them if you can't.
Our first destination was Berlin Hauptbahnhof or hbf (hbf means central station) to put my luggage because we would take train to Budapest at night anyway. Please call me weird but I like hbf so much, you can basically find anything there. I think if you are travelling to Germany, the safest place to be (if in any case you lost) is the hbf. So we started to walk around Berlin from there. (from now on I'll explain in Indonesian HAHAHA)
Reichstagsgebäude or Bundestag (parlemen Jerman) cuma 5 menitan dari Berlin hbf.
Brandenburger Tor. Landmarknya Berlin. Sering muncul di Get Rich
Saking derasnya hujan ga berenti-berenti, lensanya jadi basah juga -_- gabisa foto cantik deh (btw it was so cold jadi pegang kamera aja susahhhh)
Nah iniiiiiii tempat yang paling pengen didatengin karena bagus banget buat foto-foto tapi apa daya hujan seharian #gajodoh
Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
Alexanderplatz, City Centre-nya Berlin.
Habis sholat, tadinya I wanted to go the Berlin wall atau tembok Jerman (nah ternyata namanya sekarang itu Berlin East Side Gallery, kemarin lupa) terus Faidil bilang katanya tembok berlinnya udah ga ada *fixdibegoin* terus ya akhirnya dia ngajak ke Checkpoint Charlie. I was so curious itu tempat apa yah.. nah kita naik U-Bahn deh kesana.
Memorial of Breitscheidplatz Weihnachtsmarkt attack
Overall suka banget-banget sama Jerman. Insya Allah kalo ada kesempatan, mau banget ke Jerman lagi (padahal udah dua kali, I also went to Köln on January, I will write about it in my next post!) terutama Berlin. Habisnya masih nyesek ga ke East Side Gallery sama museum-museum holocaustnya! Padahal kata orang museumnya keren-keren. Ok sudah dulu yah, see you in next post!
