A day in Liverpool

September 07, 2017

In the end of November, I took a short getaway to the Northern England to visit Kak Ayuuu!
She is currently pursuing her master degree in University of Leeds, therefore she is living in Leeds. We planned to go to Liverpool for a day because it only takes an hour or so to get there from Leeds. My trip to Leeds was quite an adventure tho, cause that was my first time riding a train to travel across UK. Train ticket in the UK is mad expensive but it was the only choice I have.

I took a train from Oxford Train Station to Coventry and Birmingham. The thing is if you take a long journey, you need to change train once or twice. Because that was my first time, I was confused and I was afraid to fall asleep on the train hahahahahahhaa. I need to change train in Birmingham and Sheffield, but I finally made my way to Leeds YAY!

Kak Ayu picked me up in the train station and we had lunch in the city centre. Now I regret that i didn't took any single photo in Leeds T_T. Leeds itself is not that small as Oxford, It has huge city centre looks more like a city compared to Oxford. We went to her flat and I remembered that I immediately fell asleep cause kak ayu left me due to her PPI event at that day.

long story short, the next day we took a bus from the station to Liverpool. I remember that we can't stop laughing our ass toward everything we talked LOL. It was indeed a joyous trip HAHAHHAHAHAHAH. We did transit (?) in Manchester, too bad we did not have time to stroll around.

The first time we arrived in Liverpool, I already fallen in love with the city <3. Liverpool is indeed a big city, I love the atmosphere of it. It is a port city with some modern architectural touch to its several building. My favorite spot of course the view across the Albert Dock in Liverpool Waterfront. First thing we did there is visiting the Anfield Stadium, which is the home of Liverpool FC.

you can see how bad my skin was due to extreme weather and winds :(

After a short visit to Anfield, we went back again to Albert Dock to visit The Beatles History because Kak Ayu is a fan of them (me not really but I enjoy some of their songs tho). The exhibition is  devoted to the lives and times of The Beatles. The exhibition itself is really nice, You can find a lot of memorable stuff and places that are related to The Beatles history as one of the legendary famous bands in the world (They still even have their visa applications when they have their first abroad performance in Hamburg). Paid for  £12 as students, normal price is £15.95.
You will get an audio guide each so it is really helpful (especially for me hahaha).

Even my aunties were going crazy knowing that I visited Liverpool and this exhibition because The Beatles is their most favorite band during their youth hahahahha :D

They even keep Lennon's legendary specs OMG

During the tour, they play all The Beatles hits songs. My most favorite part of this exhibition is a video of their memorable crazy fangirls that reminds me of Kpop fangirls nowadays (which resembles me a lot LOL)

Took this scenery in front of Th Beatles Story, So pretty <3

Had Pizza Express for our lunch! *candid by Kak Ayuu*

Liverpool is a port city so you can find lots of boat. The city is just beautiful, definitely my favorite city across UK so far.

Liverpool's Three Graces at the Pier Head

We Finally found The Beatles Statue! Located in the middle of Pier Head

Strolled around the Albert Dock again, so pretty <33333

And because we are legit pure Asian tourists, of course we had to take tons and tons of photos HAHAHAHA

Visited The City Centre and took a rest in a cafe whilst waiting for our bus. Liverpool is indeed one of a big city in the UK. It is a must visit whenever you have a plan to visit UK HAHAHAH *Iklan*

I surely had fun during this trip, Thank you Kak Ayuuu yang gaul segaul-gaulnya dari UK sampe Indo sudah mengajakku jalan-jalan. I'm so looking forward to our next trip in the future hoho
