Euro Winter Trip part II: Jalan-jalan lagi ke Jerman 1

September 30, 2017

3rd January 2017

After celebrated new year eve in London (which was just okay, cause we saw the fireworks from Waterloo bridge and it was so crowded we had to survive from the mass. We also barely saw the Big Ben due to the smoke from the fireworks wth. Not a pleasant experience at all but at least I already experienced a new year eve in one of the famous spot in the world, tho trip to home after that was a disaster. They only opened one station for thousand of people who celebrated new year in Central of London. I slept over in my friend apartment in zone 2 so I didn't have to go back to Oxford right away at that time).

Next morning I went back to Oxford cause I had to pack my stuff due to my flight the next day. I'm gonna visit my friend Adini, who is currently studying in Cologne, Germany. I still had a week off at that time and Sayuri stayed in London because her boyfriend will visit her all the way from Japan!. My flight was in the early morning and I had to take bus at 1 am cause I had to go to Stansted Airport, which is the farthest Airport around London :( It took me 3 hours to get there and I was alone LOL. Stansted Airport itself is an airport for low-cost airline (especially Ryan Air). It has prayer room which very convenient for me to pray at that time. But unfortunately I lost my watch inside the prayer room and I realized it long after. *I realized that I actually lost my watch in the airport, right before I went back to London LOL so basically it was 5 days after I flew to Cologne WTH*

It took me 1 hour and a half to arrive in Cologne. It was snowing there finally I got to see snow! There is no snow in UK tho, all they have is rain errrrrfuckingday. I know that Germany also has unpredictable weather but UK's is the worst. After passed the immigration, I bought the Bahn ticket to Köln Hauptbahnhof cause Adini will pick me there.

Germany from the plane, SNOWWW!!!

Landed in Köln! the snow was not as much as before but still!!

After arrived, first thing first when you are in Germany, Le Crobag!!!!!!!!!  I waited there and when she appeared we laughed so hard and hugged each other because we couldn't believe we would meet again in Europe. Right in front of the Hbf there is the famous Köln Cathedral. It is a gothic style cathedral which is really tall and it is hard to take photo in front of it unless you take it from a lil bit far from the cathedral. We strolled around the city centre which was nice. Cologne or Köln is small city but it is so comfortable and has so many nice places to go. I spent 5 days in total but I also visited Aachen and Manschau with some Indo friends in Germany. It was really fun tho. After put my luggage in Adini's apartment, we went to have dinner in city centre again.

Kölner Dom

LOL it was so hard to take picture here. TOO BIG AND HUGE

We strolled around the city centre and bought some pastries :9 and then strolled around again. I went to German's drugstore called DM and bought some stuff there cause I forgot to bring my makeup remover (ended up buying some stuff lol). Then we met Adini's friends, finally I met bunch of Indo friends. They are so nice and they took me around Köln and then we decided to go to Christmas Market near city centre yey!

If you are an IR unhas student, you know what this means HAHAHA

I only took few photos cause we were busy having fun HAHAHAHA. The christmas market itself was pretty nice but it was smaller comparing to the one I visited in Berlin. After that we strolled around again and we talked about where we should go for tomorrow. We decided to go to Aachen and then basically some unknown place for me HAHAHAHA I just said yes I will join wherever you go lol I was so clueless. So that's it for my first day in Köln. The trip to Aachen will be on my next post!

bye!
