[Review] Battle of (My Favorite) Korean Lip Tints!
Juli 31, 2017
Hi everyone! As my first ever beauty related post, here I am writing a review of my favourite makeup product, Korean lip tint!
Lip tint has been a hit beauty product, especially among young girls in Asia. I myself prefer to use lip tint rather than lipstick because it gives a pretty natural flush to our lips, which is perfect for everyday look. Moreover, lip tint is way more lightweight than lipstick so this thing has to be on my bag every single day.
I do have a lot of lip tints, and I always pick either dark/deep red or dark mauve/burgundy as my go to shades. I also prefer the gel type one because it is easier for me to control the amount of the product on my lips and also because it is last longer than water type tints.
Here are my current favorite lip tints for these past few months!
L to R: Chatteau Labiotte Wine Lip Tint #RD03; Tony Moly Tony Tint Delight #02 Red; and Dear Darling Tint #RD302 Dracula Red, #RD305 Daeju Red, #PK003 Goguma Red
Swatches on my hand, L to R: the same order as the picture above
After being rubbed off by hand
after being rubbed off with makeup wipes
As we can see from pictures above Labiotte, Tony Moly and DDT #RD305 have quite strong colour pay-off. The rest give a subtle stain that might still give you natural colour, but sheerer than others.
Swatches on me and my friend's lips as comparisons:
DDT #PK003 Goguma Red
Etude House Dear Darling Tint is the one of the most popular lip tint line from Etude House. It is widely famous and they recently added several new shades to the line. This Goguma red captured my attention because of its unique colour. This tint does give you a sheer of colour, but not that much. Unfortunately, the colour it gives is not the same as the one in packaging. It does not last that long too so you will need to re-apply it more often. I do like the colour of the tint, but on lips it is just a little bit disappointing. But for its performance such as longevity and pigmentation, I would give 2.5 out of 5
DDT #RD305 Daeju Red
This is my most favorite colour among all! I love the colour pay off on my lips, a subtle reddish flush but not too much. A perfect colour to use for everyday look. The pigmentation is <3 and it is also last quite long on my lips, although you might need to re-apply after you eat.
DDT #RD302 Vampire Red
This is the darkest shade of Etude House DDT. It is really pigmented so you might need to be careful when you apply this. I also love the colour pay-off and if you like to make a Korean gradation lip, this shade is just perfect be put in your inner lip. In the picture above, the colour is already sunk in to my lip so that's why it does not look as intense as it is supposed to be. It is also long lasting just like the Daeju red one.
Chateau Labiotter #RD03
The Labiotte one is my other favourite because of the colour! Due to the lighting the colour does not really show, it is supposed to be a pretty red burgundy-ish colour. I only put one coat on my lips (my friend as well) so the colour does not really intense. but I swear by this will stain your lips for almost all day! As seen in the first photo, this tint did not really come off even after I rubbed it with makeup wipes.
Tony Moly Delight Tint #2
I bet this one is everyone favourite. All of my friends use this as their go to lip tints. I couldn't agree more because despite being affordable, its pigmentation and longevity are just amazing. It does stain your lips all day long. But then again, I prefer darker shade tints on my lips, although this shade is also the colour that looks nice on me.
Overall Thought:
I honestly love all these lip tints mostly because of the shades, texture, and the price. They are awesomely very affordable (under 100K) but still have good quality too. The reason why I prefer darker shades tint is because it looks good on my medium-light skin tone! I never like to use bright colour such us neon pink or neon orange tints because it makes my skin looks dull. If you have a similar skin tone like mine, you might want to try these kind of shades!
They are all my favourite, so I love them equally. I just use any of these depending on my mood, because they are all in different shades. But recently I use the DDT Daeju Red more often to make a gradient lips, and I always put it on my bag, along with the Labiotte one.
So, which one is the best?
for me, I love Dear Darling Tint the best because of its affordable price and large range of shades.
They have lots of dark red shades for their tints which I love. I know some might not last all day but what I found that for this line, the darker the shade, the longer it last on your lips. Then again, it is your own personal preference to choose which one is suitable for you!
So that's all for the review and I hope this post will help!
thank you for reading!
